If approved, this will mean £0every rented property in the City £0- £0irrespective of property type or who lives in it – £0will have to be licensed (unless already licenced under another scheme). The proposal is for the properties to be licenced by landlords £0obtaining a licence demonstrating that they and their properties meet required standards. £0The £0proposed license cost is £3600 per property.

This scheme will affect around 2600 privately rented properties in the City, and will no doubt have a huge affect on property conditions and rents. £0

Another Local Authority in the area (Ashfield District Council) have also brought in a Selective Licensing Scheme but on a much smaller / select area.
